MATTEO R.N. BUONGIORNO
Matteo R. N. Buongiorno, born in Italy, attended the Teatro alla Scala School in Milan and, from 1979 to 1982, attended the Bolshoi Theater School in Moscow, graduating with teachers Yuri T. Sdanov and Alexander Xmelniski.

In 1982 he joined the Teatro alla Scala ballet company. After a few months he was named soloist and won the "Candy Award" as the best dancer of the year, awarded by Italian ballet cristics.
He played principal dancer roles in several ballets: Apollon Musagete, The four temperaments, Sinfonia in C, Serenade, Paquita, Don Chisciotte, Espada, Hammerklavier, Five tangos, Three preluded, The last song, Memori (Alvin Ailey), Golden Age Pas de deux (Y. Grigorovich), L’apres midi d’un faune (Robbins), Romeo and Juliet (Paride - J. Cranko, K. Macmillan), Petruska (Fokin), Onegin (Principe Gremin), Manon Lescaut (il jailer, M. G.M), La Mer, L'angelo azzurro (the three students), Frankestein: il moderno Prometeo (Wayne Eagling), Duo (Bejart).

Among the partners he danced with: Noelle Pointois, A.Ferri, C. Fracci, O. Dorella, E. Kant, I. Seabra, E. Edvokimova, O. Novikova.

During his career he toured in Japan, China, Russia, Europe, Jordan, Canada, United States of America, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.

He was a guest at several galas: Tokio, Kioto, Osaka, Sarasota, Zurigo.
In 2015 he was invited to the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow as a teacher and repeater. His mentors were: Svetlana Adirkaeva, Boris Akimov.
In 2015 he collaborated as a masterclass teacher at the Teatro alla Scala.
